We really thought Pud was gonna turn the world over and shit down it's throats. Yes, A band called Pud! They were THAT good! Their live show was stellar. Their songs were infectious. They even looked cool and i've never liked bands that "looked cool". That was always a minus for me. When I first saw em they looked like skate rats,with Bones Brigade shirts on and shit. I thought that was cool. Then they started looking like the New York Dolls?!?! ha!! Are you serious?! Yea! But in all seriousness, their songs were soooo good that I really wanted to do a full length with them, even though I couldn't sell their 7" that I put out already. They wanted a full length too but were contemplating breaking up. This was kinda unheard of then. If a band even got into a small argument about stealing a french fry most labels would run for the hills. No one wanted a band that didn't tour. I wanted a great album with their songs on it. So even when they confirmed that they were breaking up we both agreed to do an LP. During the recording I get a call from them while they were at the studio. I thought "fuck! They wasted my $1000!". It's actually them saying that it's turning out so good that they decided not to break up! About a week later they broke up.-Todd C.
